Theme Park: How To Teach Thematically in the Upper Grades
Open the
door and step into a world of imagination and discovery. Energize your
classroom with hands-on learning activities, interactive simulations, and a
rewarding character-building component. Join in as we provide you insight
and ideas to how we guide our students to become investigators, creators,
researchers, and risk-takers.
Focus: Grades 3-6
Classroom Management: A Positive Approach (includes Building Blocks: Character Education and Teambuilding in the Classroom)
Our classroom management program is based on a positive approach in which
the focus is placed on those students who have proven to be responsible
citizens, encouraging the rest of the students to follow their example.
This workshop will give a wealth of practical and useful ideas you can pick
and choose from to fit into your own classroom management system or
character education program.
Focus: Grades 1- 6
Tell me, Show me, Involve me: Interactive classroom simulations
Simulations are creative, complete units of instruction that incorporate
traditionally taught material into a simulated environment in the
classroom. Goals are set for individuals, as well as for the groups with
which they work. This goal setting, in conjunction with the competition
with other groups, keeps the students very involved in their learning. This
workshop will take you through the steps of integrating simulations into
your curriculum.
Focus: Grades K - 12
This workshop will take you through planning an integrated novel unit with
special emphasis on addressing the various learning styles, as outlined in
Howard Gardner’s pioneering research into multiple intelligences.

Easy as Pi: Integrating
Math and Literature
Have you ever tasted Gator Pie? Integrating literature
and mathematics doesn't have to end with the primary grades. In this
workshop you'll learn some fun and creative ways to use literature to
enhance your existing mathematics curriculum.
Focus: Grades 3 - 6
P.R.O.B.E. the Topic: Probing Expository Writing
The P.R.O.B.E. Book is a student-made book of individually chosen
mini-research topics on just about anything - thus, the acronym Personal
Research On Basically Everything. Learn how to
use this writing tool to enhance basic research skills, practice the writing
process with expository writing, and encourage students to learn more about
what interests them.

Spice It Up!: Add zest
to your reading and writing
Learn some creative ways to add excitement to your existing reading and language arts curriculum. Everything from reading incentive programs to standardized test strategies.

A Changing World: Building Integrated Technology Projects
Did you know that more information has been produced in the last 30 years than the previous 5000? Are your students ready for this changing world? Through the use of the Building Blocks Model for Technology Integration, this workshop will show you ways to develop meaningful technology projects to help prepare your students for the ever changing Age of Information.
Focus: Grades K -12

This workshop discusses some of the critical components of putting the power of the Internet to work in your classroom. These components include simple searching techniques, information literacy skills, and strategies to develop Internet-safe lessons. Included are tips, ideas, and resources to enhance your curriculum with the Internet.
